The L-009 Smoky pleco is a great addition for smaller community aquariums. Reaching a maximum length of around 3 inches. They are a sandy colored fish with brown and black stripes. They are omnivorous but enjoy meaty foods. They are not algae eaters so care must be made to make sure they are getting fed. The aquarium should have rock piles and or wood tangles that offer lots of hiding places. They are peaceful however they will defend their cave from other plecos. Each species will need about 12 inches of their own space.
